FREE CLASS VISITS TO CHADDESDEN and osmaston PARKs
Groundwork-led visits to Chaddesden and Osmaston Parks, to promote the area’s rich heritage and fit in with your curriculum requirements, are on offer. These activities are part of Groundwork’s ‘The Past on Your Doorstep, The Future in Your Hands’ project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. This programme will contrast the industrial developments of Osmaston (in particular Rolls-Royce) with Chaddesden. The two parks are remnants of the Wilmot Family estates and each had grand halls, which were demolished in the 1920s and 30s. An education pack for the sites will be produced at the end of the project. Further details below:
Please contact Rosalind Allen at Groundwork to arrange free half-day school visits to the park – I am able to take bookings for curriculum linked visits from now right through to July 2007. I would be happy to discuss a tailor-made visit to suit your needs.
